Company Policy Apparel Launches Newest Lifestyle Brand

The other day I was contacted by Company Policy Apparel, which just launched its first line of lifestyle clothing. The clothing line features the designs of 5 prominent Philadelphia artists to showcase their city’s urban culture.

PHILADELPHIA, April 6, 2010–Company Policy Apparel just launched its first line of clothing this spring, featuring the designs of five prominent Philadelphia artists. Owned and operated by Christos Karabelas, Company Policy Apparel is a massive collaboration of artists, musicians, and influencers that reflect Philadelphia’s urban lifestyle culture.

The company will feature a collection of “lifestyle clothing” consisting of t-shirts and all-organic light hoodies. The apparel showcases the designs of artists John Fitzpatrick, Yisrawayl Goodwin ‘Nose’, Robert Rezin, Dewey Saunders, and Matthew Gribbion. The clothes are screen printed by hand at a local art gallery.

Company Policy Apparel is the collaborative product of one entrepreneur and many heavy-hitters in the Philadelphia art and music scene. Whether one artist knows an influencer through a band, a photo shoot, or a mutual friend who plays a mean turntable, all forge together to contribute toward a clothing line that reflects their culture.

“I wanted to create a brand that reflects the Philly sense of community and aimed to collaborate with the ‘who’s who’ of the urban lifestyle culture in Philadelphia,” said Karabelas.

Karabelas has big plans for Company Policy Apparel. He considers Philadelphia the first of many cities around the world, where he will collaborate with influential local artists to create lines which reflect the respective urban culture or ‘counter culture’. Philadelphia will remain the mothership of Company Policy Apparel, and will continuously produce new lines, even as the company expands to other markets.
