Wanama: Extending Love from the Moors of Yorkshire to the Catwalk of BAFWEEK

At the recent edition of BAFWEEK (Buenos Aires Fashion Week), 24-26 February, the Argentine label Wanama took us on a chilly journey to the colors, textures, materials, and natural costumes of the local inhabitants in Alaska.

Reflecting the imagery of the Alaskan landscape and native animals that roam the land, the patterns ranged from bears and owls to deer and wolves.

The color palette consisted of dry, cold, icy tones—void of color—as well as the greens and browns that so crisply characterize the mountainous and forestrial terrain.

Along with the bright primary colors of fruit and flowers, soft skin tones and pink mellowed the palette.

Textured skins, leathers, and handmade fabrics starred as the protagonists of the collection.
