Hermanos Estebecorena: Brothers of Form and Function at BAFWEEK

Already for the third season, BAFWEEK (Buenos Aires Fashion Week) has unfolded the concept of Textile Route Argentina.

The journey commences with the processes and techniques through which raw materials must undergo, passing through the hands of thousands of people, before they arrive on runways around the world.

The 2010 fall/winter edition of BAFWEEK was held from 24-26 February and drew a crowd of 35,000 spectators.

As usual, several menswear labels were on the runway, completing the Textile Route [to] Argentina.

Otherwise known as HE, Hermanos Estebecorena presented a reinterpretation of elegant sports tailoring, taking a fresh new look at leather and accessories.

Born 1969 and 1971 in Buenos Aires , Javier and Alejo Estebecorena have been designing menswear since 2001. As former industrial mechanical technicians and researchers, the two designers apply sophisticated industrial solutions in their ongoing search for form and function.

Directed at a male clientele between the ages of 20 and 50, HE places special yet equal emphasis on the shapes and materials that can achieve practical functionality without sacrificing chic looks and long durability.
