Be Different Spring/Summer 2011

Be Different is the brainchild of four young boys. Be different is the brand that, since 2009, has won the best Italian and foreign showcases thanks to Cube 27, a maxibox of plexiglass that contains 27 small cubes, a pack of polyurethane coated nylon jackets with multiple colors.

The spring /summer 2011 has been enhanced with new models, always colorful and waterproof.

Cube 27
Lightweight nylon outerwear is completely sealed by a polyurethane coating. Characterized by large white double slider zip. Fully profiled inside. The jacket is in a sleek Plexiglas cube.

Desert Eagle
Outerwear raincoat with a hood made of nylon fabric and lightweight waxed writable. Elastic wrists at sight. Vertical black zip on pockets and in front of jacket. Purple drawstring for the hood on the bottom.

Bio Difference
Technical outerwear fabric produced according to environmentally sustainable processes based on cotton and nylon; it is completely waterproof by coating of polyurethane.
Characterized by large white double slider zip. Fully profiled inside.

Cocker
Double face coats lightweight nylon fabric coated with polyurethane.
Water-repellent windbreaker. Quilted with Ecopiuma Thermore.
Zip closure with melted white reversible.

Walk of Fame
Outerwear cotton drill completely waterproofed by coating of polyurethane. Buttons made of stainless steel. Washed in the finished garment.

A Deluge of Difference with Be Different

The 78th Edition of Pitti Uomo is just around the corner, and Be Different is being a different kind of exhibitor this time with “Après Moi Le Deluge”—a cocktail inauguration of the 2011 spring/summer collection at the prestigious Poggiali and Forconi Gallery.

The words “Après Moi Le Deluge” (literally, ‘After me comes the flood’) were first spoken by French King, Louis XV, referring to the events that would follow his death.

Be Different ties the words to 6 works of art that will be exhibited from the latest series, “Deluge,” presented by the celebrated David La Chapelle—American photographer and film/video director.

Italian music, tastes, and scents will pervade the Gallery!

So, Be Different and take a personal interest in what may befall even after our time.

"What Color Are You Feeling Today?" by Be Different

In 1974, a Hungarian sculptor and professor by the name of Ernő Rubik invented a puzzling cube, which has come to be known as the Rubik cube.

Not only have 350 million cubes been sold as of last year but the mechanical cube has recently inspired a new line of menswear called Be Different.

Love for creativity, a bent for experimentation, and a propensity for risk are only several of the qualities that underline Be Different, which celebrates passion, openness to all types of “contamination,” and every means of expression.

For spring/summer 2010, Be Different has colored our world with a line of ultra-light jackets, which are elegantly packaged in transparent, plexiglass cubes of eight colors.

As for the waterproof jackets, this season they are feeling black, white, Hollywood cerise, coral red, salmon pink, amber, deep brown, yellow, bright green, sea green, Prussian blue, violet, Brandeis blue, champagne rosé, and cool grey.

Be Different was conceived by four 25-year-old young men for other young men.

The four innovators (Stefano Garofalo, Federico Fontana, Ugo Minerva, and Francesco Ogliaro) recently made their debute at Pitti Uomo in Italy, 12-15 January 2010, with Be Different.
