Carlos Campos Spring/Summer 2011

Another rising brand that I was fortunate to review last week at the Capsule Show in New York City was Carlos Campos.

Under the auspices of his father, Carlos Campos learned the art of fine tailoring from early age.

He studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, going on to design costumes for famous plays, such as “The Graduate,” “Fiddler on the Roof,” and “The Jersey Boys.”

Carlos received recognition for Best Menswear at Mexico City Fashion Week, where he presented his autumn/winter 2007 collection. Last year he won the Rising Star Award by Fashion Group International for Best Menswear Design.

So, just who is wearing these award-winning designs? Justin Timberlake, Enrique Inglesias, and Ethan Hawke are just a few.

And what characterizes these designs? Sharp lines, structured shoulder lines, and a masculine silhouette.

Shirts are constructed with Italian fabrics and reinforced with French seams. Jeans are fashioned from Japanese denim.

Finally, check out this fun movie by Carlos Campos.
